Dallas (Texas) Bishop Dunne defensive tackle Calvin Avery stands at 6-foot-2, 315-pounds and is one of the top prospects in the country.
Rivals.com ranks Avery as a four-star prospect and the No. 10 overall defensive tackle in the country. Avery sits at No. 148 in the Rivals250 for the 2018 class.
With many colleges coming after him, Avery's original plan was to wait out making a commitment, but he has other plans now.
"At first, I was going to wait until February to commit, but now I'm thinking sometime around August," Avery said. "I was going to release my top five, but I'm ready to commit."
Avery put out a top 12 schools list on May 14, and the schools that made the cut were Arkansas, Arizona State, Colorado, Illinois, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma, TCU, Texas A&M, Texas, USC, and Washington.
