Farrar excited about Colorado offer

Dallas (Texas) Skyline outside linebacker Kamryn Farrar picked up his first two scholarship offers in since the calendar turned to 2018. Receiving those offers isn't something Farrar ever envisioned for his future.

"Man it was good; it felt great to get the offers," Farrar said. "I never thought I was going to get any. I didn't know I was going to get to this point. I was just playing football to have fun. It's crazy."

Farrar's first offer came from Illinois State, which is a reasonable school to land your first offer from. His second offer came from a big time program in the Pac-12, the Colorado Buffaloes, which was a surprise to the 2019 recruit.

The 6-foot, 198-pounder received the offer from Colorado defensive backs coach ShaDon Brown.

"He came to the school and told me how I'm athletic and loved my film," Farrar said. "Later on, my coach told me to call the Colorado coach, and [Brown] told me 'Congratulations, we're offering you.' I couldn't believe it at first. I was too excited. I dropped my phone and started yelling. I was so glad I got it."

Farrar already thinks highly of Brown.

"He's very cool. We're texting all of the time and building that bond," he said.

Ever since he landed the offer from CU, Farrar has been doing research on the Buffs. He hopes to get even more familiar with Colorado after a potential visit sometime this spring.

Other schools are showing interest in Farrar as well but have not offered yet.

"SMU, UNT, Baylor -- I'm actually going to SMU this Thursday for a visit," said Farrar "I have a visit to Arkansas in two weeks. They're showing a lot of love to me too."
