Commit Updates: Julmisse cant wait to join Buffs

Anthony Julmisse has visited Colorado twice and talked with the Buffaloes' coaches countless times, but he did not know much about the program's glory days until he watched "The Gospel According to Mac" 30-for-30 documentary on ESPN earlier this week.

"It was enlightening, I would say," said Julmisse, who verbally committed to the Buffs earlier this fall. "I enjoyed learning more about the school that I will be attending, learning more about the history. I really enjoyed that show and to be honest, it made me love Colorado even more than I did before. I am really happy I got the chance to see it.
"A lot of what I watched was fairly new to me. I didn't know much about the history at all, especially everything about Sal [Aunese]. I also learned about the situation where they overcame racism. It just opened my eyes even more and I took a lot from that."
Julmisse has received 28 scholarship offers throughout his recruitment, but since he committed to the Buffs, he has only continued to hear from two other programs.
"It is pretty much just Colorado, Vanderbilt and UCF that I hear from. I have told everyone that I am sold on going to Colorado," Julmisse said. "I am really comfortable with Colorado and having Johnny Huntley going out there with me makes me even more secure in my decision.
"My father would like for me to take an official visit to Vanderbilt in two weeks. But like I told him, I am sold 100 percent on Colorado. He just wants me to take the visit with an open mind, but I am pretty much done and set with Colorado. I just can't wait to be there."
Julmisse talks with Buffs safeties coach Joe Tumpkin on a weekly basis and he also keeps in touch with Colorado defensive backs Kenneth Crawley and Afolabi Laguda, who he developed a strong bond with on his two trips to Boulder.
"Every time I talk with Colorado's coaches, I hear about how I am going to fit into the role Donovan Lee plays for them right now. That is what I am supposed to be playing for them and that is what I have my mindset on," Julmisse said.
Julmisse and his South Plantation teammates will close out the 2015 season at McArthur this weekend. After starting out the season 3-1, the Paladins have dropped five in a row.
"We just plan on going out with a bang. That has been the motto this week," Julmisse said. "Our team is mostly young guys so we just want to show them how to dominate a game, show them that we're not quitters. I feel like our senior class with Johnny and I, we've definitely created some sort of path for the young guys. We would have liked to win more games but I have enjoyed my senior year."
