As with any team that has seven freshman, there’s still a lot of question marks for the Buffs.
Can they replace Derrick White’s explosiveness? Will CU utilize a two point guard lineup with McKinley Wright and Namon Wright? What type of role is George King set to play? But just two days until the team’s home opener, and the starting lineup is still up in the air.
With the game against Northern Colorado lingering, Buffaloes' head coach Tad Boyle wouldn’t commit to anything or anybody in regards to starting, making it clear there is still a lot of playing time up for grabs.
“We don’t have a starting five right now; we don’t have a rotation,” Boyle said. “We have twelve guys on scholarship that I feel comfortable playing, but I can’t play twelve. A lot of it will be matchup based on Friday night. The ones that separate themselves will play themselves into that starting five on a regular basis, and into the rotation on a regular basis.”
Boyle also didn’t give a timetable for when he may have a set lineup and rotation saying he needs to see how the young guys perform before he makes anything set in stone.
