Will OL be Army's next commit?

If there is one area that Army has been able to find quality talent, it has been on the offensive line.

With a combination of seasoned talented like junior starting guard Frank Allen mixed with young players like starting center Ryan Powis (Fr.), along with up and coming rplayers such as tackles Steven Schumaker (Fr.) and MIchael Kime (Soph.), the staff is working hard to pull in solid linemen who can continue to fill the pipeline.

No, these aren't your typical 6-foot-5, 310 pound road hogs that you find up and down the roster of many college programs. But yet prospects like Brandon Dewitt, offensive lineman from Lawton (OK) Lawton High School, who have adequate size and who are mobile, as well as explosive enough to move well in contained space are just what the recruiting doctor order.

With an offer from the Black Knights, along with Army and still being recruiting by Dartmouth and the University of Penn, DeWitt now has plenty of time to focus on his recruiting. "We lost in the quarter finals and finished the season 11-2," shares the 6-foot-2, 275 pound prospect, who has now scheduled his official to the West Point campus.

"I talked to Army on Thursday and going on my official visit on the weekend of December 2nd and I've almost completed my application."

Yes, I do feel that I could make my decision should I get up there (Army)and love it.
- OL prospect, Brandon Dewitt

Dewitt who maintains a 3.87 GPA, shared with GoBlackKnights.com that he plans on majoring in either Petroleum Engineer, Pre-med or Bio-chemical engineering.

For the prospect out of Oklahoma, this will be his second visit to the historical military academy. "My first visit was an unofficial this summer, but I'm really excited about my upcoming visit ... I'm not really sure what to expect," adds Dewitt, who embraces the idea of playing up front for Army's triple option that leads the nation in rushing.

"It fits perfectly into my style of play, because I really like run blocking versus pass blocking."

Now that his season is over, Dewitt shared that part of his work regime will consist of running with parachutes, pulling the sled and working on his squats, as well as aerobic and footwork drills.

Right now I've been working out twice a day every day and focusing on building up my speed to get it better then it is now.

So does Dewitt fills that he is ready to commit to Army? "Yes, I do feel that I could make my decision should I get up there and love it," he declares.
