A stronger, faster Farmer
Brandon Farmer got his first taste of playing on both sides of the line. Looking ahead to spring practice, the 6-foot-2 and 305-pound Farmer is focused on being quicker and stronger up front.Last fall Harrison Central (Miss.) junior
"We get spring ball going in about two weeks," said Farmer. "And everyone is pretty anxious to get started and hitting again.
"I felt I played a lot better last year than I did my sophomore year. I played mostly at right tackle but I also played some on the defensive line. My footwork was a lot better last year and so was my drive blocking. This spring I just want to keep getting stronger and play even more aggressive."
Early in his college recruitment, Farmer has already collected one offer and is drawing interest from several other Division 1 schools.
"I got my first offer not long ago and it was from Louisiana-Lafayette," said Farmer. "A lot of other schools are also looking at me like Arkansas, Mississippi State, Southern Miss, Auburn and Arkansas State."
Farmer also noted he has attended a pair of junior days thus far and has also made plans for summer camps.
"I went to junior days at Mississippi State and Southern Miss and both were great," said Farmer. "I plan to then go to camps at Mississippi State, Louisiana-Lafayette, Southern Miss and Arkansas State."
And with the Bulldogs, Farmer noted he's been impressed with their program and hopes to eventually earn an offer.
"Mississippi State has been recruiting me since last year and ever since I went to their camp," said Farmer. "Coach John Hevesy has been the main coach recruiting me and he is a good coach and I like the way he coaches his guys. I really like it there and they are the school I really want to go to.
"Mississippi State is kinda close to home and I want my parents to able to come see me play. They really had a good season last year, won a bowl game and are really an up and coming program. I don't have an offer from them yet but they've told me they liked me last year at camp and want to see me again this summer at camp."
