Practice Insider: Barkley to start vs. Wash. St.

USC head coach Pete Carroll came under some sharp criticism when he never actually announced Aaron Corp would start at quarterback for USC in the week leading up to the Trojans' game at Washington. Carroll waited until the last possible minutes to rule Matt Barkley out from that game in an effort to gather all the information.

Wednesday, Carroll decided he'd seen enough, and pulled the trigger on naming a starter for Saturday's contest with Washington State.

It's going to be Barkley.

"We are going to go with Matt in the game," Carroll said. "He's ready to go. It's clear that he had a very good day today, feels good about it, and off and running we go. I am happy to get him back out there."
