The latest on Ray Polk
After a discussion with his parents, Ray Polk decided he would take an official visit to Arizona State this past weekend.
The 6-foot-0, 195-pound running back from Phoenix (Ariz.) Brophy Prep had been verbally committed to Colorado since mid-October.
"My trip to ASU was good," he expressed. "It was a really informative trip. They kind of ironed out some things."
Polk's former Brophy Prep teammate Mike Callaghan served as his player host for the weekend.
"They really expressed the fact that they need a big running back that can get up in the hole," Polk said. "They talked a little bit more about their offense and what kind of run game that they have. That was basically it. Most of the other stuff I had already seen on my unofficial visits there."
What is Polk's current status?
"I am still committed to Colorado," he stated.
Would Polk categorize his commitment to the Buffaloes as soft or solid? "Solid," he replied.
"Their coaching staff is great," Polk added in regards to Colorado. "I just really like the atmosphere and what they have going on there. They are a building team. They have a lot of young players. I am very excited about it. I'm looking forward to being a Buff."
Polk does not have plans to visit any more colleges before national signing day.
A Rivals.com four-star prospect, Polk is considered the fourth best prospect from the Grand Canyon State this recruiting cycle. He rushed for 1,166 yards and 12 touchdowns this fall as a senior.
