Horns to get a surprise visitor?

The Texas Longhorns are in the midst of a four-month dry spell since their last commitment, and the UT fan base was beginning to wonder if their team would gain another pledge for its 2008 recruiting class. With only one outstanding offer left on the table (Lynn Katoa) there just wasn't a ton of action to get the burnt orange blood flowing.

It looks like you can insert another name to the Texas recruiting list. Or more accurately, you can reinsert a name.

Bryce Givens, an early Nebraska pledge and a Rivals100 member, said this week that he's keeping his options open and he's planning to take a visit to Texas at some point, probably in December. The news comes on the heels of a major shake-up in the Husker athletic department, with athletic director Steve Pederson having been fired on Monday afternoon, only to be replaced by former Nebraska head coach Tom Osborne who will fill the role on an interim basis.

Givens, a four-star prospect out of Denver Mullen, said on Tuesday that he talked to a couple of other Nebraska commits about the situation in Lincoln, and he's decided to keep some fallback options on the table.
