Kentucky teammates set to visit Colorado

When the Buffaloes take on Florida State on September 15th, a large group of recruits are expected to be in attendance.

Two of the expected official visitors that weekend, tight end Ryan Wallace and wide receiver D.L. Moore, hail from Bowling Green (Ken.) High School.

"I am really excited about it," said the 6-foot-5, 225-pound Wallace when asked about his upcoming trip to Boulder. "I want to go out there and just see everything."

Tight ends coach Kent Riddle is responsible for Wallace's recruitment from the Buffaloes' staff.

In addition to Colorado, Wallace holds scholarship offers from Stanford, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Purdue and Miami of Ohio.

"I have also set up an official visit with Stanford for October 13th, when they play TCU," he added. "I have talked with Ole Miss about setting one up with them as well. That is probably it for right now. I have talked to Cincinnati some but I haven't decided if I want to take an official visit there yet. Those are mainly the colleges that I have it down to right now."

What are Wallace's impressions of Stanford going into his trip out to Palo Alto? "I actually went out there unofficially earlier this summer so I got a chance to see everything," he said. "I have a really good relationship with all the coaches out there. I go into that official visit knowing what to expect a little bit. But going into my trip out to Colorado, I really don't know quite what to expect."

Ranked by as the seventh best prospect from Bluegrass State this cycle, Wallace caught 25 passes for 325 yards and three touchdowns last season as a junior. Bowling Green High School went 13-1 last season before losing in the state championship game for the second year in a row. Wallace and his teammates will open up the 2007 season this Saturday against Boyle County High School, a program that has won the state championship five times in the last eight years.

What does Wallace consider his best attributes as a tight end? "My knowledge of the game," he said. "With my dad (Bowling Green head coach Kevin Wallace) being a coach it has allowed me to be around the game pretty much my whole life and I really understand what to do. I know how to block, I know how to get open and I have really good hands. I hardly ever drop the ball."

D.L. Moore currently holds scholarship offers from Colorado, Nebraska, Purdue, South Carolina, Cincinnati and Ohio. He caught 28 passes for 468 yards and three touchdowns as a junior.

"D.L. and I have a pretty good relationship," Wallace explained. "We have talked a lot about going to the same school. That is part of the reason why we are taking a trip out to Colorado together."

Moore is ranked by as the fourth best overall prospect from Kentucky this recruiting cycle.
