Chisholm excited about move to Independence

Last year Mecklenburg County has quite a few good running backs. Seniors such as Ryan Houston from Butler High and Daryl Vereen from North Mecklenburg High would ink high major Division I scholarships. (Houston signed with UNC and Vereen with Tennessee.)

Yet it was a junior from West Charlotte High that would be named the county's offensive player of the year, Roderick Chisholm. He ran 257 times for 2,237 yards and 24 touchdowns while fumbling only one time.

"I'm dangerous around the perimeter," Chisholm noted, "quick, great outside speed."
