Chisholm readies for senior season

Charlotte (N.C.) tailback Roderick Chisholm was one of the region's top tailbacks last season, as he ran for 2,125 yards and 25 touchdowns in leading West Charlotte High School to the NCHSAA 4-A state title game, earning Mecklenburg County offensive player of the year along the way.

This coming autumn, Chisholm will play for Independence High as it goes after yet another state title.

"It's not all about my stats this year; it's about the team. As you know, at Independence, they've won 108 games straight, and seven straight championships," Chisholm said Saturday at the Shrine Bowl Combine in Matthews. "I just want to work hard; work extremely hard. Sweat, pain, and bleed blood."
