Hawks offer JUCO LB

With all three starters at linebacker set to graduate this year, the Iowa coaching staff is in the market for some help from the junior college ranks at the position. This week, the Hawkeyes extended their first JUCO offer in the Class of 2014, which went to DVonta Derricott, a 6-foot-1, 230-pound linebacker from Garden City Community College in Kansas.

"Coach Reid, the linebackers coach from Iowa, offered me yesterday," said Derricott. "We were just talking about my grades and how I was doing and then at the end he surprised me with an offer."

Derricott, who had 55 tackles this past season, is originally from Virginia where he graduated from Hermitage High School in 2012.
