MSU makes an impression on Myles

Official visits are all about showing off facilities and campus life to prospects.

But when a recruit is from the same hometown it is hard to make an impression. After taking an official visit to Mississippi State, Starkville native Gabe Myles was able to experience what campus life is like just minutes from home.

"It was a fun experience getting to know a different side of Starkville," Myles said. "It was different for me because I was introduced into what college life will be like. It was fun being with my teammates and being able to interact with them."

There was one new component to campus that Myles was able to experience for the first time. The Bulldogs opened the doors in 2013 to their new $25 million Seal Football Complex which spans a spacious 88,000 square feet.

"It was wonderful," Myles said. "It was huge. The weight room was huge. That's where we are going to be doing a lot of our work at and I think it's going to set us up for success."

The three-star athlete was hosted by freshman safety Deontay Evans on his visit. Since Evans was in the same shoes just a year ago, he was able to provide Myles with some insight of what to expect next fall.
