Woodbury hopes to represent USA

Adam Woodbury was planning on moving to Iowa City this weekend. Those plans changed last month when he was extended an invitation to tryout for the USA Basketball U18 National Team. The 7 footer from Sioux City will join 23 other players in Colorado Springs starting on June 5th.

Final cuts for the squad, which will be coached by Florida's Billy Donovan, will be announced on June 12th. Should Woodbury make the final roster of 12 players, he would play in the 2012 FIBA Americas U18 Championship, which will be held in Sao Sebastiao do Paraiso, Brazil from June 16-20.

Before leaving for Colorado Springs with his father, Woodbury talks about the invitation and his summer plans in Iowa City.

Q: What have you been doing training wise since the end of the season?

WOODBURY: I've been running a lot and spending a ton of time in the gym working on my overall game.

Q: Talk about the invitation to tryout for the USA Basketball team and how you found out that you were selected?
