Johnson and Carson Ready to Emerge

TULSA - There has been a massive amount of change at East Central high school over the past few months with three head coaches leading the Cardinals since they last took the field in the 2011 5A state semi-finals.

Adding to this massive turnover is the addition of former Tulsa Central star Devanta Johnson who joins current Oklahoma commitment Stanvon Taylor, and fellow unappreciated linebacker Kimmie Carson to make the Cardinals one of the most talented defenses in the state.

During SoonerScoop.com's Road Trip the staff had it's second chance to see Johnson this spring, following his workout at the Dallas NIKE camp, and felt he again showed great fluidity in his movement and particularly in his backpedal. Johnson continues to progress as a corner but it may be as a free safety where his brightest future lie.

With Carson, he may not be the biggest linebacker in the country - or even the state - but he has loads of athleticism and moves well sideline to sideline. With several new offers coming in don't be surprised to see Carson's stock continue to climb through the summer.
