Getting to Know: Bryan Ohene

GoldandGreenNews.com gives fans a closer look at signees from the Class of 2012 in our Getting to Know feature. Mansfield (Tex.) Summit outside linebacker Bryan Ohene was a late addition to this year's class, but he isn't lacking playmaking ability. Below is a Q&A with the 6-foot-1, 218 pound defender.

You seemed to come onto Colorado State's radar relatively late in the process. When did CSU start recruiting you?

Bryan Ohene: "It was late January."

Who recruited you from CSU?

"Coach Duffie"

Other than the Rams, what other schools that offered you were on your final list?

"Stephen F. Austin"

What sold you on CSU?

"They had the education program I was looking for, which was Biomedical Engineering. I found out CSU was a big engineering school, which really steered me in that direction."

What impressed you the most about Coach McElwain?

"With Coach Mac, he was an all-around nice guy. I spent two nights there and every night he came and talked to me and we had real good conversations. It was like I was just another student to him."

When did you take your official visit?

"January 26"

What did you like the most about your trip to Fort Collins?

"I liked the area, the environment and the people."

What specifically are you going to bring to Colorado State?

"I'm going to bring leadership and hard work."

What makes you so special as a player?

"I know I don't stop. I keep my motor running at all times on the field. I don't stop until I'm satisfied with where I'm at."

Will you start out playing OLB or DE?

"Outside linebacker"

What do you want to work on to get better?

"I want to learn some linebacker skills because I'm so used to defensive end. I need to work on my stand up position skills and get familiar with the linebacker position."

What was your most memorable moment throughout your football career?

"Making that playoff run for the first time my junior year. I was on varsity as a sophomore but we never made the playoffs. My junior year we made it to the first round of the playoffs and we actually got two rounds deep. That was pretty memorable for me and the seniors that played in it. We were just a really solid team in Class 7-4A"

What was your most embarrassing moment in football?

"I had a clean shot at the quarterback one time when he was looking for someone to throw the ball to. I was coming 110 mph and a I had a clean shot - I missed him, but I still got an arm on him and got the tackle. I could have had a full body shot on him but, I don't know, I was only able to get that one arm on him."

Who is your favorite player of all time?

"Probably DeMarcus Ware overall. At CSU, I like Mike Orakpo and I know he works really hard, so he's my favorite player there."

What are some of your favorite hobbie?

"I do woodwork and listen to different genres of music."

What's your favorite food?

"Cheeseburgers"

Favorite Movie?

"In Time"

Favorite musician?

"Kid Cudi"

What's something about you that most people probably don't know?

"I'm an eagle scout."

Do you play any other sports?

"I do track; I throw the disc."

Any other talents that people might not know about?

"I'm really good at Halo."

Do you think you can come in right away and get early playing time?

"I'm really not sure to be honest."

Do you have a message for CSU fans out there?

"Go Rams!"
