Dodson's tweet to Nkemdiche draws attention

Mark Dodson Jr. plans to make a decision in May and then make the transition from recruit to recruiter.

Late Saturday, the Rivals250 running back sent out a tweet to the nation's No. 1-rated recruit, perhaps tipping his hand a bit.

"It's not about who want you it's about who need you so you can play and you know who need us both and it can be brother love 4you," Dodson said on Twitter in a message directed to Loganville, Ga., five-star defensive end Robert Nkemdiche.

"He never responded to my tweet yet, but we're building a relationship," Dodson said. "I was just kind of having some fun. I'm going to make my decision after spring practice."

Dodson, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound all-purpose back from Memphis (Whitehaven), Tenn., ranked by Rivals.com as the nation's No. 201 prospect, spent the hours leading up to that tweet in Oxford, visiting yet again with the Ole Miss coaching staff.

"It went good," Dodson said. "It went real good. We watched my film and then we watched their film. They told me how I'd fit in their offense. They said they'd line me up and run me between the tackles because I'm big enough. It's a lot like the offense we run at my high school. There wouldn't be a big adjustment."

Dodson's trip to Oxford was his second in as many months. Not surprisingly, he said the Rebels are his favorite at this point.

"Right up under them is Arkansas," Dodson said. "I know Ohio State is going to offer me. It's going to be a fight. I can tell you that."

Dodson said he won't commit before the end of spring practices in part because he wants his teammates to catch the eyes of college recruiters who will be in town to see him.

"I want to get my teammates some exposure," Dodson said, adding he doesn't care as much about where his teammates end up as long as they land scholarships at the collegiate level. "If I commit early, some college coaches won't come. …For me, it's about moving a step closer to my dream. I have to stay humble and keep working hard."

Dodson said he plans to visit Mississippi State on March 31 and Ohio State sometime in April. He'll be in Oxford on April 21 for the Rebels' Grove Bowl game.
