Jones signs with Deacs

Oakland Park (Fla.) Northeast athlete Kevis Jones signed with Wake Forest at 1:24 PM today, Feb. 1.

Rivals.com rates the 6-foot-2, 195-pound Jones as a three-star recruit.

He switched his commitment from Central Florida to Dec. 7. Ray McCartney recruited Jones for the Demon Deacons.

"I feel comfortable with the coaches," Jones said. "I've got a good relationship with the head coach [Jim Grobe]. I feel good around the players. There's 31 players on their roster from Florida, so I'll be able to relate with them a lot more."

Northeast made it to the second round of the state playoffs, and finished with a 7-5 record.

He is listed as an athlete, but Wake recruited him as an outside linebacker.
