Hill makes the switch

Cedar Falls running back Barkley Hill has been committed to Iowa State since April, but this past weekend made an official visit with the Iowa Hawkeyes. Following the trip, the 6-foot-0, 190-pound Hill decided that he was ready to make the switch and did just that earlier today.

"Barkley's father, John Hill, just called me about three minutes ago and said that Barkley is going to Iowa," said longtime Cedar Falls coach Pat Mitchell.

A three-year starter at Cedar Falls, Hill has put up huge numbers in high school, including 2,493 yards rushing and 40 touchdowns this past season, which helped place him on the Parade All-American team this month. He finished his career with 6,163 yards and scored 89 touchdowns, which is a state record in Class 4A.
