Clearing things up
Just more than a month ago a story started floating around the internet that caused many to wonder whether Boston College linebacker commit Steven Daniels would end up sticking with the Eagles. The four-star prospect went on the record with EagleAction to clear things up this weekend.
Daniels signed with BC last February and has been at Worcester Academy this year as a post-graduate student.
Back in late February, Daniels made comments that indicated he missed home a bit. He came to Worcester from Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier last year, where he was rated a four-star recruit with offers from schools all over the country.
Last month EagleAction spoke with Worcester coach Dave Dykeman, who said BC fans have nothing to worry about. On Sunday, Daniels echoed those thoughts.
"I'm solid with BC," Daniels said as he took in some NFL games Sunday afternoon. "I talk to the coaches every week."
That's about as clear as he can be.
Daniels was scheduled to visit BC last Thursday night for the Eagles' game against Florida State.
"I didn't make the trip," he said. "I had the SAT on Saturday so I had to rest up and get ready for that. That's why I wasn't there.
"I'm still going to take the trip. It will be an official visit and that's the only official I'll take. It's just BC. Everything's great with them. I'm not sure when it's going to be yet, though."
Though Daniels didn't enroll in BC this year he told EagleAction he has maintained a close relationship with Albert Louis-Jean and other members of BC's Class of 2011.
Worcester Academy has one game remaining in their season.
Daniels is ranked the No. 3 prep school recruit in the nation from the Class of 2012.
He currently checks in at about 6-foot and 250-pounds.
