Alozie hopes to make visit to Army

Strong Safety Okezie Alozie remains a primary target for the Black Knights' 2012 recruiting class.

The 6-foot-0, 200 pound prospect also excels at running back as demonstrated by his season opening 49-14 win over East Stroudsburg South this past Friday.

The Bethlehem (PA) Freedom High School prospect had a productive, albeit Friday evening.

"I only a little bit of the first half because we were blowing them out," shares Alozie, who played on both sides of the ball. "I had 127 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns. I only had three tackles, but I knocked their quarterback out the game."

As one sided as Alozie's first game appeared to be, this weekend's encounter falls on the other end of spectrum as Freedom clashes with Allentown Central Catholic.

"Their quarterback is committed to South Carolina, they are highly ranked and they were state champions last year," adds Alozie.

"The quarterback that Alozie is referring to is 3-star signal caller, Brendan Nosovitch who is a commit to the Gamecocks.

On the recruiting front, Army continues to take serious interest in Alozie's talents and the hard hitting safety has expressed mutual interest. Now it appears that prospect from Pennsylvania just needs to find time in his schedule to make a visit to the historic West Point campus.

"Coach Waugh ... we talked about me coming for one of their home games," declares Alozie.

"Probably later in the season is when I will get up to West Point. I just have to find the time in my football schedule. As a football program Army does pretty well, which is where my high interest is. I need to go out and see what it's actually like. I need talk to somebody who has actually graduated from West Point or who currently goes to their and get their point of view.

"I have to also look into the whole military commitment as well," says Alozie, who indicated that he projects himself playing defense at the next level.

In addition to Army, there are several other offers, along with interest flowing in elsewhere.

"Along with the offers I have, others who are recruiting me hard are West Virginia, Maryland, GT, Akron and Temple," he confirms. "They have been calling me this past week and confirm they are looking to offer me off of early film evaluation." will continue to follow Alozie's recruiting progress throughout his senior campaign.
