Nzeocha Commits to Cowboys
The Cowboy football program landed it's first commitment of 2012 when Eric Nzeocha from Germany verballed head coach Dave Christensen's staff. The 6-1 and 210 pound athlete plays defensive back and wide receiver for the Franken Knights football club.
Nzeocha's name is familiar since his brother Mark is a good candidate to hit the field as a freshmen and in competition for one of the outside linebacker spots after commiting to he Pokes last summer. The older Nzeocha is in a competitive battle with junior Korey Jones at the postion.
Christensen continues working his connections over in Germany and with the Nzeocha commitment, the Cowboys would have four players from the country who signed over the last two years which also include linebackers Alex Borgs and Oliver Schober to go along with the Nzeocha duo.
"We are able to sign some guys over there who would garner a lot more recruiting interest playing in the states," said Christensen. "We believe they can make an impact in the Cowboy football program."
The younger Nzeocha brings Wyoming a versatile prospect with the ability to play several of the skill positions including wide receiver or in the secondary.
He's clocked at around 4.5 forty-yard and has a combination of athleticism and size to along with a noted work ethic. The capability to be looked at a number of positions helped his interest grow with UW staff after evaluating his while recruiting Mark.
A native of Neusitz, German, Nzeocha will be incoming freshmen in next year's class and a candidate for early spring enrolllment.
Wyoming has one commitment to-date for 2012 signing day and should sign close to another full class to get up to the 85 player scholarship maximum allowed by FBS programs.
