Johnson goes in-depth

At the end of the day, it came down to a certain comfort level that Jaleel Johnson found at Iowa on his last visit. That made up his mind to join the Hawkeyes and commit to their 2012 recruiting class today. The four-star defensive tackle talks in-depth about his decision, trying to recruit more players to join him at Iowa, and much more.

Q: What made up your mind about Iowa?

JOHNSON: It was just a matter of finding a school where I'll be the most comfortable at and fits me the best really. When it came down to it, that was Iowa.

Q: Was it your last visit there that kind of sealed the deal?

JOHNSON: Yeah, it was. Just meeting with the coaches again, being around the players, and seeing the campus itself, it really stood out to me.

In committing to Iowa, Johnson chose the Hawkeyes over scholarship offers from Michigan State, Johnson also held scholarship offers from Arizona, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Minnesota, Boston College, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Toledo, among others.

The four-star prospect is the sixth commitment for the Iowa coaching staff in the Class of 2012.
