Ducks make top group for 4* safety

It is no longer a secret that the Oregon coaching staff has taken their recruiting efforts nationwide. In fact, it almost seems strange to think about the days when Oregon's recruiting efforts where contained west of the Rocky Mountains. Coach Chip Kelly has had success recruiting nationally and does not appear to be slowing down. One prospect he is pursuing this year is Rivals' 250 member Trae Elston. Duck Sports Authority caught up with the 4* safety recently to find out if the Ducks made his top group.

"This is my top five right now, Clemson, LSU, Tennessee, Oregon and Alabama. In that order," said Elston.

The Ducks once again find themselves in some elite company battling for Elston's signature. It is another telling factor that they have become a legitimate player on the national recruiting scene. The 6-foot-0, 183 pounder from Oxford, AL has been very open about the Clemson Tigers and his long time affinity for them and he shared with DSA what it is that draws him to their program.

"I like the atmosphere at the stadium and everything," he explained. "I like Howard's Rock and all of their former players that played at Clemson like Brian Dawkins. I look up to him a little bit."
