Harris may have a favorite soon

Louisiana Tech has dipped into Southeast Louisiana with great success in recent years and looks to do just that on the defensive side of the ball with Episcopal HS (Baton Rouge, La.) defensive end Tylor Harris.

Harris had been reported recently as to favoring Georgia Tech, Stanford, Alabama, and Northwestern. However, none of those schools have offered him yet.

"Out of [Georgia Tech, Stanford, Alabama, and Northwestern], Stanford is my number one school. What I like about Stanford the most is they have great academics and at the same time have a solid football program," Harris said.

Harris likes a passionate coach and responds the best to that when being coached.

"I like a coach who puts his heart into it. Not just someone who is out there to get the paycheck but a coach who is willing to work and develop a bond with his players," he elaborated.

When asked if he thought Tech defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator Stan Eggen was like that he responded enthusiastically, "oh yeah!"

Harris is unsure whether he will camp at Tech this summer as he has built a solid relationship with the coaches and seen what Tech has to offer in Ruston already. He said he plans on trying to experience more schools this summer.

Given the relationship the Tech coaching staff has built with Harris, they are in good standing with Harris. Next week Harris said Stanford told him they would tell him if they are offering him or not. If they do, it seems likely the recruitment for him may soon be over.
