Korang looking for SU offer
Mount Holly (N.J.) Rancocas Valley Region offensive tackle Raymond Korang is making the rounds in the northeast to try and get his name on coaches' minds. This past weekend his travels took him to Syracuse.
"The visit to Syracuse was great I loved the atmosphere."
Just like his teammate Dominic Twitty the location of Syracuse really surprised.
"It kind of reminded me of home. When we went there we did not expect it to be so suburban. We felt right at home."
A couple other items stuck out on the trip for Korang as well.
"I loved their weight room the weight room was great and it was all set up perfectly. I also like the pro-style offense that they run and the coaches were really nice."
After the Orange complete their spring game fans came on the field in search of autographs during this time Korang and his teammates saw one place on the field to stand and take in the Carrier Dome.
"I loved standing in the middle of the field. When we came out to the field everybody was just standing around the outside and we went right to the middle. It felt really great."
After the game is also when they had a chance to talk with some Orange coaches.
"We talked with Coach [Greg] Adkins and Coach [Jimmy} Brumbaugh and we just went over how they run everything at Syracuse."
Despite having a great time at Syracuse the prospect came away without a scholarship offer, The Orange coaches told him that they are not ready yet and want to take one more look at him before they make a decision.
"They want to bring me up for a camp and evaluate me. I do not know if I will be able to make it or not because of our schedule."
All and all the trip seemed to go well for Korang and the Orange moved up on his list.
"I love it up there it is up there on my list."
Down the road if the Orange offers Korang could that mean a commitment from the prospect?
"It might," Korang said.
