Buchanan Jr. Already Familiar with Oklahoma
It's the year of famous sons in Oklahoma recruiting and while Oklahoma hasn't been heavily involved with two players closer to home, Barry Sanders and Mario Edwards it does seem they are starting to throw their hat in the ring with a prospect much farther from homebase Suwanee (Ga.) Peachtree Ridge corner Ray Buchanan Jr..
Actually it seems the Sooners have been involved for a while now with the 5-foot-10, 176-pound prospect who already holds offers from Louisville, Mississippi State, and Arkansas.
"I came (to Oklahoma) when they played Florida State. When I came to the campus, I was amazed, it was one of the best campuses I've been so far," Buchanan Jr. said. "One of my mom's friends, is friends with some former players (Roy Williams and Tommie Harris) so he knew Oklahoma and knew some of the coaches up there and they checked me out and stuff. After that they wanted me to come up and visit. They introduced me to a whole bunch of people."
