Bulldogs still on top for Voytik

During its camp last summer Mississippi State took notice of a rising junior quarterback from Cleveland, Tenn., named Chad Voytik.

It was during that stop in June that Voytik also received his first scholarship offer from the Bulldogs and they have remained his top contender since.

"They are my favorite," Voytik said of MSU. "I have a good relationship with their coaches. I talk to them every week if not twice a week sometimes. From the very beginning they have shown a strong interest in me. Today I talked to coach (Angelo) Mirando, the new receivers coach, and he was telling me about the dates of the junior days and just whenever I want to come down I'd be welcome. He said I am really high on their priority list right now for the 2012 class. It makes you feel good to know that they do want me and have a lot of confidence in my game and think I can take over for them. It's pretty big for me to know a school like that has that much confidence in me."

Voytik spent two days on the Starkville campus this summer attending four sessions of Dan Mullen's camp. Playing under a coach with his resume of producing NFL quarterbacks such as Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow and No. 1 overall pick Alex Smith is something that could play a factor in Voytik's final decision.
