Alabama checked in last week with McGill-Toolen quarterback Jason Smith last week to talk about where the 2013 recruit fits in its system. The three-star quarterback is a playmaker in the back field, but UA head coach Nick Saban sees him more on the defensive side of the ball at the college level.
