Harris signs with Deacs
Baton Rouge (La.) Episcopal defensive end Tylor Harris signed with Wake Forest at 8:46 AM today, Feb. 1.
Rivals.com rates the 6-foot-3, 245-pound Harris as a two star recruit.
He committed to Wake Forest Jan. 29. Ray McCartney recruited Harris for the Demon Deacons.
"It's [Wake Forest] something that was a good fit for me, and one of those opportunities I couldn't pass up," Harris said in a prior interview with Deacons Illustrated. "I'm just happy I made a good decision."
Harris expects to contribute early as a pass-rusher, and should evolve into a more complete defensive player as he grows and develops under the tutelage of Wake's coaches.
He recorded 70 tackles, 25 tackles for loss, 10 sacks six passes defended and three blocked kicks this season to help lead Episcopal to a third-round appearance in the state playoffs and an 11-2 record.
