Walley on the comeback trail
Greene County (Miss.) two-star tight end Gus Walley is on the mend this offseason.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pounder battled through a shoulder injury during his senior campaign but was forced to have surgery following the conclusion of his senior year.
"I played the whole season with it torn up," Walley said. "After the season I had to get it fixed."
Walley underwent successful surgery last month and hopes to begin rehabbing to return as soon as possible.
"It's really all up to me and my rehab," Walley said. "If I work hard I'll be out for three months at the most. If I don't work hard I don't know how long I'll be out. I really haven't been able to do anything yet because it's hurting me pretty good but pretty soon I'll start working my legs and stuff."
The injury prevented Walley from playing in the Bernard Blackwell Mississippi High School All-Star Game but he still spent the week on the coast and took part in the event.
