Griffin ready for visits
Coral Reef High School in Miami, Florida is where you can find linebacker Corey Griffin making plays. Those plays have him holding almost double digit offers. As he holds those offers he is starting to set up visits.
"I do plan on visiting Syracuse, but right now the only visit I have set up is to Cincinnati."
The visit to Syracuse might start becoming more of a priority after what the Orange did to West Virginia on national television.
"That was a great game, a blowout," Griffin said. "They were taking down a powerhouse which is a great look for the program. I could defiantly see myself wearing orange and stopping a big time quarterback like Geno [Smith]."
Griffin, 6-foot-2, 210 pounds was in regular contact with Syracuse, but that slowed once the bye week came.
"I talked with Coach Shafer two weeks ago and we talked about me coming up in late December or January," Griffin stated. "Coach Shafer seems to be a nice guy and does everything by the book. He was very informative about the communication program at Syracuse and let me know how everyone behind the scenes at ESPN came from Syracuse."
One visit is set at this time and he also knows the other schools that will get visits.
"I visit Cincinnati on November 11. My other visits will be to Louisville, Syracuse, Middle Tennessee, and Bowling Green."
As far as a decision goes Griffin has his mind on other items right now.
"I do not have a timetable I am just focusing on this season and making it to states."
This year is very big for his team and that is why he is not looking into the future.
"For once in school history we are on the road to the playoffs my class is starting a legacy."
With that big goal in front of him to help his team into the playoffs he has not thought about his stats at this point.
"I am not paying attention to stats until the season is over. I know what my goals are and I know I will reach them."
