CMU recruit Jenkins talks offers
Chris Jenkins is a 6-foot-7 wingman, 190-pound from Detroit Jesuit HS. He is drawing interest from schools across the country and has six offers, with a seventh that should be coming very soon.
The Detroit native has offers from Central Michigan, Florida International, Morehead State, Eastern Michigan, Detroit Mercy and Duquesne. Jenkins also thinks that he is very close to getting an offer from Drake. Other schools that are showing interest in him are Xavier, Boston College, Providence, Stanford, Santa Clara, La Salle and St. Bonaventure.
"I'm pretty neutral right now as far as which schools I am most interested in. I'm open to a lot of different schools. I'll see who is interested after this next tournament. I am definitely interested in CMU though."
However, Jenkins did list a top five that is pretty flexible.

He added that the Chippewas are in his top ten.
"I have a lot of interaction with the CMU coaching staff. They call me all the time and they email me a bunch and they talk to my parents a lot. I like their coaches a lot. They're really interactive with me. I like their coaching staff and their players and the offense that they run."
Most schools are looking to play Jenkins at shooting guard or small forward, but some are considering him to move to power forward. The Chippewas would likely play him on the wing at the two or three spot in the offense.
The Detroit Jesuit senior is looking for a school with a strong academic foundation and a place where he can play during his first season. As far as the Chippewas are concerned, he likes
"I'm looking at academics and I'm looking for a good medical program. I also want to play during my freshman year. I like CMU because they have an offense that I like where I can get out on the floor and shoot, so that's a good fit.
Jenkins has another tournament soon in Los Angeles with his AAU team, the R.E.A.C.H. Legends. After that tournament, he says that he will probably take a couple more visits in August. The only visit that he has taken thus far was an unofficial visit to UD-Mercy.
Finally, the Detroit native added that he will probably make a verbal commitment this fall, shortly before his senior season.
