Hutto (Texas) had one of the team's better seasons in recent memory this past year. The Hippos bounced back from a disappointing 2009 to start 2010 with an 8-0 record. Even though they fell to eventual state semifinalists Mesquite Poteet in the first round of the playoffs, a lot of young talent returns next year.

Leading the way is quarterback Ryan Higgins. The 6-foot-1, 183-pound junior led a potent offense this past season ad on Sunday he won quarterback MVP honors at the Next Level Athlete camp. The talented signal caller is firmly on the radar of several colleges.
