Sheperd talks about Iowa offer
Last summer, Missouri wide receiver Brandon Sheperd attended Iowa's camp as an underclassman and made a good first impression. In fact, the 6-foot-3, 195-pound Sheperd found himself with a verbal scholarship offer from the Hawkeyes before even starting his junior year at Parkway Central High School in the St. Louis area.
"It happened last summer when I went to one of their camps," said Sheperd. "Not long after the camp, they decided to offer because of how well I did, so I'm really that glad I went. The drive up there was definitely worth it."
As a junior, Sheperd finished with 20 catches for 440 yards and four touchdowns in a run-heavy offense at Parkway Central. He also had 137 yards rushing and two scores on the ground plus 52 tackles and five sacks on defense. Timed at 4.46 in the forty at a local combine last summer, the junior says he makes the most of his opportunities when he gets them.
