Kimbrow walks the walk
Memphis (Tenn.) running back Brian Kimbrow isn't lacking in confidence.
At the U.S. Army All-American Bowl combine, Kimbrow called out opposing players and played to the cameras. But that personality comes easy to a player who is becoming one of the South's hottest recruits for 2012.
Kimbrow now has more than two dozen offers to back up his talk.
"Recruiting is great," Kimbrow said. "I have 25 offers. What more could you ask for?"
USC is one of the many schools chasing Kimbrow early. The Trojans offered Kimbrow before this year's signing day, but Kimbrow's contact with USC has mostly been second-hand.
"I got the offer two or three weeks ago," Kimbrow said. "They called my coach and my called told me. I haven't talked to them since I got the offer, but I get a lot of mail from them."
For now, Kimbrow is still in the learning process about USC.
"They have good tradition and I know they work hard," Kimbrow said. "I don't know too much about the school or the team."
Kimbrow will look to the coaching staff and other considerations when making his decision.
"I'll just be looking for a good fit and good leadership," Kimbrow said. "Distance isn't a factor at all."
The confidence Kimbrow exuded in San Antonio extends to the recruiting process, The running back said he hoped he could see the field as a freshman.
"I think I can come in early and make a difference," Kimbrow said. "If there's a play to be made, I can make it."
With his junior year not yet complete, Kimbrow is holding off on kicking his recruitment into high gear.
"I haven't been too involved in recruiting. I've been busy working out and studying," Kimbrow said. "I don't have my top five yet. I'll try to get that sometime this summer and then take visits. I'm going to decide on signing day."
